It includes templates that guide students' personal response to literature as well as tools for utilizing literature circles in the classroom (including roles and responsibilities). Some teachers find great success using some of the templates as writing prompts.
Dinah Zike's Notebooking Central series was developed in response to teachers' requests for content-specific templates to enhance student journaling and interactive notebooks. This series complements Dinah Zike's Notebook Foldables book, a 2011 Teachers' Choice Award-winner.

I just received my book in the mail, and I am so excited to use with my students. My students already do journals for reading, but I think this will make our notebooks more engaging. When I showed my students this year, they we excited too and said they wished that they got to use them. The only thing that I am slightly bummed about is that some of the foldables seem like they need some explanation as to how to use them with curriculum. I haven't been to any of the trainings, so maybe that's why I don't know what the intended use for each one is. But for the most part, I can use a lot of them without any instructions. I also like the sample photos at the front that show how some should look when glued in the notebook. Overall, I am looking forward to using them with my students!
